PRESSURE
Opening: AUGUST 11TH 2020 Genre: Drama Rated: NOT RATED Duration: 1hr 50Min Production Company: PRESSURE ENTERTAINMENT FILMS LLC Distributor: FREESTYLE DIGITAL MEDIA Sometimes dreams may be the only hope to escape death Synopsis This is a coming of age story about five teenagers growing up in Brooklyn and Harlem New York in the 1980's. It is the beginning of a new generation of kids called the "hip hop" generation, which unfortunately was growing up alongside the "crack cocaine" generation. Karon falls into a deep sleep after his graduation in 1985. Having dreams within dreams takes him into a realistic drama along with his potential future in the 1990's as a drug selling youth. His fast money attitude serves as the detriment to the community and ultimately his best friends become caught in the crossfire of his illicit activity. He awakens back in 1985, realizing the "easy way out" that was offered wasn't a glorious new beginning, it was the end. From the Writer - Director - Producer
Abdu Dandridge The film "Pressure" provided me with the opportunity to fulfill a personal desire to share my New York City "growing up" experiences in a way that not only tells a inner-city story, it demonstrates how our made choices map out our destiny. The film mirrors raw life experiences that children of today encounter in similar ways. Like its name, the film is Pressure packed and does not hold back - providing the viewer with a reality that pulls off the veil of the streets and speaks to truth; in a way that hits home awakening the minds of young and old alike. The film connects us to the 1980's complete with the outstanding break dance b-boy performances by the original group established in 1979 i.e. The "DYNAMIC ROCKERS" and their rival b-boy group the "SUPREME BEINGZ". These two crews go head to head and add flavor to the neighborhood scenes. The key actors in the film Damion Omar Lee, Chauncey Meeks Owens, Andrea Bordeaux, Daniel Molina, James Shippy, and Sharieff Carson have theater backgrounds, which enable them to bring depth and sincerity in the portrayal of their respective characters. "PRESSURE" takes us back to the joyful days prior to the influence of crack cocaine in (1985), and brings us upfront and personal with the effects of the drug culture, which continues to riddle the lives of families and friends today. I deeply feel that I have masterfully crafted the film with impactful subliminal messages, as we travel never knowing exactly where we will end up. This is a must see film -- a film for the ages! I have exhibited "Pressure" via a limited number of select colleges, universities and high schools. I have allowed the students the opportunity to share in the experience of the film to make sure I was able to connect and relate on a level they understood and respected. I feel that, if you have had the opportunity in your life entering the cross roads and made the right choice, you has chosen "Life". P.Watts - From Raw Wattage
Emcee and DJ tandems are far and few between in this current climate of the rap/ hiphop genre. The Raw Wattage duo (hailing from Columbia, SC and Radcliff, KY), which consists of emcee P.Watts and producer DJ FX, merge to form an electrifying blend of hip hop while experimentally infusing a tab bit of influences from other genres creating a sound unique and diverse from their counterparts. They can thrive in today's single driven market with a rambunctious hard hitting anthem such as "No Rahbirtah Flaq" while still keeping the hard edge yet a smooth it out simplified appeal for the ladies on their BJ the Chicago assisted "Obsession". The group is also capable of delivering a catalog of cohesive full length projects that would feed the hunger of a cult like following. Whether its the follow up to their debut "N.E.W.S." titled "Relentless Catharsis" (which also features production from iconic greats Large Professor of Main Source fame, DJ Ogee of DITC, Pete Rock, and Statik Selektah and assists from the legends to the new wave including Sadat X & Grand Puba of Brand Nubian, the late Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Rell of Roc-A-Fella fame, Chino XL, Joe Fatal of the Main Source & Soul Assassins crews, Tragedy Khadafi, Planet Asia, Termanology, Your Old Droog, Conway of Griselda Records, Skyzoo, AG Da Coroner, Crime Apple, & J.Scienide) which picks up where its predecessor left off taking it up a notch delivering this opus no different than Gordan Ramsey would present his sumptuous delicacies, or the Large Professor fully produced body of work titled "#TBT" (Trials, Bullshyt, & Tribulations), you get an assuring sense that Raw Wattage is a mainstay in today and tomorrow's hip hop ethos.
